Proof of Jesus’ Presence

We are taking a short break from our study of the Book of Acts for a brief look at John’s journey contained in John Chapter 14.  We will resume our study of Acts soon.

Read:

“A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me. Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I am in My Father, and you in Me, and I in you. He who has My commandments and keeps them, it is he who loves Me. And he who loves Me will be loved by My Father, and I will love him and manifest Myself to him.”  John 14:19–21

Reflect:

The news of His upcoming death had shattered Jesus’ disciples. What would they do, where would they go, how would they continue without the Lord? These and a thousand other questions filled their thoughts. To help them assuage their fears, Jesus told them of the resurrection. “A little while longer and the world will see Me no more, but you will see Me.”

“Because I live, you will live also.” While on earth, the disciples would still have the presence of Jesus in their lives This would be possible by the indwelling of the Holy Spirit.

When an individual receives Jesus as Lord and Savior, that person is born again and his or her dead spirit is resurrected! All of this is based upon the resurrection of Jesus. The Lord insisted, “Because I live, you will live also. At that day you will know that I am My Father, and you in Me, and I in you.” Believers can be comforted knowing they have the power of Jesus’ presence indwelling them at all times and leading them in the way to go.

Respond:

“Jesus, you are the leader and Lord of my life. I take comfort in knowing that Your presence dwells within me in the person of the Holy Spirit. Amen.”
