The Prayer Walk

Prayer Walk 2018.jpg

JOIN US ON AUGUST 12TH, 2018 FROM 4 PM TO 5 PM TO PRAY FOR OUR SCHOOLS.

The Prayer Walk is a community-wide gathering of Christ-followers who gather together to pray for our schools.  There is no distinction or recognition of any church.  Rather, as one Church, one Body of Believers, we will gather together to lift the name of Jesus in prayer over our schools, our teachers, our students and their families, our administrators, and our neighborhoods.

The Prayer Walk - August 12th from 4 to 5 pm.

Our schools are not without God or without hope, as long as Christ-followers walk the halls.

Make plans to gather with fellow Christ-followers throughout our community as we walk the grounds of schools to pray over the new school year. Consider volunteering as a host for a near you.

CP Women Fall Bible Study | Sermon on the Mount

Come to connect and be encouraged along with other women as we grow deeply rooted in Christ through the study of His Word.

STUDY: Sermon on the Mount by Jen Wilkin.  Published by LifeWay Press ® • © 2014 Jen Wilkin

"What does it mean to be a citizen of the kingdom of Heaven? Matthew’s gospel opens with three chapters containing Jesus’ longest recorded message – a sermon given to His disciples early in His ministry to articulate what the life of a Christ-follower would look like. It was a message intended to turn upside down every expectation His closest followers might have. Both practical and profound, the sermon asks of us the same questions it posed to its original hearers: How should a disciple relate to sin? To others? To the Law? How does a disciple think, speak, and act? What is the nature of true righteousness?" -Lifeway Christian Resources.

This fall we'll seat ourselves on a mountainside to learn at the feet of Jesus. Together we'll ask for ears to hear and a heart to respond to the teaching of our King.

DATE: September 18-November 13, 2018
We offer two identical class sessions on Tuesdays.

Israel 2018

Israel Oct. 2017.jpg

OCTOBER 19-27

Church Project will be hosting a tour to Israel in 2018.  A visit to the Holy Land is life-changing.  We’ll be visiting sites where Jesus walked, where our forefathers lived, where most of biblical history occurred and future events will take place.

This trip is for those who are engaged at Church Project.

Why Should I Visit Israel?

A trip to the Holy Land will deepen your spiritual life.  It is significant to walk in places where Jesus walked and lived.  To sense that Jesus was in this place, where God chose to come and live on this planet, has profound impact on someone’s spiritual life.

A trip to Israel will also enhance your Bible reading.  You’ll step foot in places where Jesus performed miracles, where He taught His disciples, where the crowds followed Him.  You’ll see where Elijah battled the false prophets, where Jesus walked on the Sea of Galilee, where Peter was restored on the beach, where David hid in caves from Saul.  You’ll be at the steps where Peter denied Jesus, the Mt. of Olives where Jesus prayed before He was betrayed, and see the rock where Jesus gave His life.

A trip to Israel will give you vivid imagery of the same places where much of Scripture was written about.  And, you’ll visit the Valley of Megiddo, where Scripture culminates.

Will I Be Safe?

Some wonder if safety will be an issue as you tour in Israel.  My response: I never questioned for a moment my safety in Israel.  The issue never entered my mind.  Security is superb.  In fact, statistically speaking, it is safer to travel in Israel than in many major U.S. cities.

Can I Afford It?

Traveling to Israel is expensive.  This trip is an investment in your spiritual life.  The majority of costs lie in airfare, hotel, and food fees.  Church Project has worked to streamline the cost of the trip.  And, Church Project gains zero money from the fees- all fees go directly to the travel company to cover your personal travel costs.

Dates: October 19-27, 2018

Location:

Visiting approximately 35 biblical and historical sites

4 days Galilee/northern Israel/Staying in city of Tiberias on Sea of Galilee

4 days Jerusalem/southern Israel/Staying in Jerusalem by Old City of Jerusalem

Trip Leader: Jason Shepperd, with wife Brooke

Price: You have 2 options for how you may book your trip: register for the tour and pay for the airfare separately or book as an all-inclusive package.
     - The price without airfare is $1,950.
     - The all-inclusive trip price is $3,775.  If you book as a package, the airfare cost is usually lower.  However, you will not be able to use miles or choose your seat.

Quotes are in per person sharing twin-bedded room in 5 star hotels.

Price includes lodging, morning and evening meals, transportation, government licensed tour guide, all entrance fees, all service charges, all government taxes, all tips.  You will be responsible for meals en route and lunches.

Requirements/What to Bring/Itinerary: As trip nears, you will receive a list of items to bring, specific requirements, complete itinerary.  We will have an Israel preparation meeting a month or so before the trip.

Registration: The trip is now full however, we are accepting a waiting list that will be a first come, first serve basis. Please email donna@churchproject.org if you are interested in joining our wait list.

Student Mission Belize

Student Mission Belize.jpg

Mark your Calendars! This summer, students at Church Project (completed 8th-12th) will travel to Belize for an opportunity to serve Jesus, and experience His Church, in a different context. Belize is a country with great spiritual and physical needs with 41% of the population below the poverty line. Belize is a safe, democratic nation with English as it's official language. Thus, this a great 101 international trip for students at Church Project.

The village of San Joaquin, located in northern Belize, is where students will spend time worshiping with the local church, teaching the gospel to children through VBS and sports camp, helping to build a home for a local pastor and his family, loving the elderly, and being challenged in their own faith.

For fun on the last day, Students will travel via water taxi to the island of Caye Calker. They'll snorkel the barrier reef, eat seafood on the beach, and worship God while overlooking the Caribbean Sea before heading back home after a great week of experiencing God.

  • Project Students will host a parent & student interest meeting on Sunday, Feb. 18, from 1-3pm in the student room at Church Project. Lunch and childcare will be provided.
  • This trip is for students completed 8th-12th grade at the end of the 2017-2018 school year.
  • Each student who attends the trip must have current passport (cannot expire within 6 months of trip).
  • COST: $1,400 (includes transportation, lodging, meals, and materials).
  • Registration and a $500 non-refundable deposit is due by April 15 in order to reserve a spot.
  • Remaining Balance is due by June 1st.
  • Students will raise prayer and financial support.

Secret Church 2018.jpg

APRIL 20TH | 5:30PM-12:45AM | AT CHURCH PROJECT |
$12 PER PERSON

This Year's Topic: Cults and Counterfeit Gospels

For the good of our souls and for the sake of the church’s mission, followers of Christ need to ask, “What false gospels are being taught today?” and “How can I recognize the true gospel among so many counterfeits?” Answering these questions will be the aim of Secret Church 18, “Cults and Counterfeit Gospels.” In the end, our goal is to walk away from this Secret Church not only enabled to discern false gospels, but also equipped to share the true gospel with people around us and with peoples around the world.

The Secret Church Simulcast will start promptly at 6 pm so we encourage you to come early and get settled in before it starts.

We will have light refreshments available for the evening but feel free to brown bag dinner. It is a long event, so you may consider bringing your favorite chair cushion, camp chair, or throw blanket.

Where: Church Project, 295 Sawdust Road, The Woodlands, TX 77380

Daddy Daughter Night

Daddy Daughter Graphic 2018.jpg

WHEN: FEBRUARY 16 | 6:30-8:30PM

WHERE: CHURCH PROJECT

God has given fathers a calling to love their children in a way that models His own love for His children. The way we love our kids will influence how they relate to God, their Father in heaven. In addition, one of the best ways to demonstrate to your daughters what type of man that they should be looking to date, and one day marry, is to give them an example of what a godly man looks like. For these reasons and many more, we want to give you an opportunity, Dads, to take your daughters on a date!

IF: GATHERING SPRING

to Feb 10

IF: GATHERING SPRING

What IF we followed God with perseverance instead of insecurity? At IF:Gathering 2018, we will look at one of Paul’s letters to Timothy as he reminded him of the power and responsibility of sharing the gospel. We want to give God away in the very places He’s put us, so we’re going to gather for the purpose of remembering why following God and making disciples matters. We all get tired, we all wonder if what we’re doing matters, so IF:Gathering 2018 will be the reminder--it will be the celebration. The work we’re doing to share the gospel on the earth is worth it and God DOES move through the little things that nobody sees. Join us!

We are looking forward to gathering together locally at Church Project on Feb. 9-10th to experience IF:Gathering 2018 live from Austin, TX.

We plan to open our doors 45 min. before the event starts at 6pm on Feb. 9th. So arrive early to check-in, connect with old friends and meet some new ones, and grab your seat! We will be providing water and light snacks throughout the weekend, but feel free to bring whatever you need to be comfortable. We will have a lunch break on Saturday, and you are free to head off-site for lunch somewhere local, or if you prefer to bring a lunch and eat at the tables in our foyer.

We want this to be a weekend where you are able to unplug and create space to connect and hear from God. So for this reason, we will not be providing childcare for this event. However, we will welcome nursing mothers and babies under 8 months to join us in the main auditorium or in our nursing mother's room.

"Like" and "Follow" our IF:Spring Facebook page and keep your eyes out for emails from IF:Spring as to how you can get connected to volunteer your time and resources to help make this a great event for women across our community. Share this event with your friends, neighbors, sisters and strangers! Invite them to join you for this life-changing weekend!

Please feel free to contact us with any questions you have and we look forward to seeing you in February!

Child Dedication

Child Dedication

OCT 8th | FOLLOWING BOTH GATHERINGS

Child Dedication is a special service of prayer & commitment between parents & children, before God and their church. By dedicating a child, a parent vows to follow God's plan in Scripture for raising children and to lead their child to love and follow Jesus.

Parents will make a commitment, and we will pray publicly over the child and family during the main auditorium gathering. A more in depth ceremony will take place in the lounge following the main gathering and will focus individually and intentionally on each child and family. The lounge is where you will receive your child's dedication certificate, a gift from Church Project, read a letter to your child, and have photo opportunities.

In an effort to make this ceremony a meaningful experience for families, we have provided tools to prepare parents for the event. After registering a child, parents will complete a series of short, simple assignments that create an opportunity to reflect & pray for this special day.

Free to attend.

Lunch and childcare is available upon request for a fee with registration.

ABIDE Women's Bible Study

Abide. A Study of 1, 2, 3 John by Jen Wilkin.

Fall 2017 |  Starts: September 5  |  Ends: November 14

Three short books in the Bible have much to teach us about the depth of our Father’s love and what it means to abide in Him. As we study through each chapter of 1, 2, 3 John, verse by verse, we’ll be encouraged by the new commandment to love one another as we walk in the light, truth and love of Christ.

Come connect and grow with other women as we study together this fall!

There are two identical class sessions on TUESDAYS for you to choose from.

Tuesday AM  |  9:30-11:30

Tuesday PM  |  7:00-9:00

Each class will begin with small group discussion over the weekly homework, then all groups come together to wrap-up what’s been discussed and studied with prayer, worship and teaching.

Registration/Cost: $20 [includes Abide Study Book]

Childcare: Provided at no additional cost for children through Grade 6. You must reserve childcare when you register online.

Any woman is welcome and invited to be part of Bible Study at Church Project. If you have questions, email:  tia@churchproject.org

About the Author: Jen Wilkin is a speaker, writer, and teacher of women’s Bible study classes through the Institute at The Village Church. She is also the author of Women of the Word, None Like Him and many Bible studies.
